Anand was married to Anuradha, who was a journalist. She is currently the editor of the magazines Verve and Man’s World. They have two daughters, Divya and Aalika.

Charity

He is the founder of the Nanhi Kali project which aims to provide primary education to underprivileged girls in India. As of September 2017, the project has supported 130,000 underprivileged girls.

He is the Chairman and one of the Board of Directors of Nandi Foundation, an Indian charitable trust that works towards the socio-economic development of India.

Career

Anand Mahindra started his career in the year 1981 as Executive Assistant to the Director of Finance. In 1981, Anand Mahindra joined Mahindra Ugine Steel Company Ltd (MUSCO).

In 1989 he was appointed as the Chairman and Deputy Managing Director of MUSCO. On 4 April 1991, he joined Mahindra & Mahindra Limited as the Deputy Managing Director, a manufacturer of off-road vehicles and agricultural tractors in India.

In April 1997, he was appointed as the Managing Director and then as the Vice President of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited in 2001.

In August 2012, he became the Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Mahindra Group. In November 2016, he was re-designated as the Executive Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited and continues to be the Chairman of Mahindra Group.

Presently, Mahindra Group is among the top 10 corporate houses in India.

Mahindra Group operates in aerospace, agribusiness, automotive, components, construction equipment, defence, energy, farm equipment, finance and insurance, industrial equipment, information technology, leisure and hospitality, logistics, real estate and retail.

Actually, a person started a restaurant named Top Grill a few months back in Amritsar, Punjab. But he died on 26 December 2021, after which the responsibility of the restaurant fell on the shoulders of his two sons Jashandeep Singh (17) and Anshdeep Singh (11). In this video that came on YouTube, both the brothers, who are currently facing financial crisis, appealed to the people to come to the restaurant.

Anand Mahindra answered this appeal of both the brothers. On Saturday, he posted a video on a Twitter. In this video, he is seen with these two brothers.
