People have been queuing up at the Apple Store to buy the latest iPhone 13 handset.

In October 2021, after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) changed the rules for recurring payments, Apple seems to have stopped accepting credit, debit card payments to deduct money for app subscriptions in India, in line with official regulations.

The issue was highlighted after several users lost payments when making debit or credit card payments.

To help its users understand what to do in case your card is denied payment in India, Apple has addressed this issue in one of the help pages under “Apple Payment for Indian Subscriptions and Billing for Media Products”.

The company says, “To continue enjoying your subscription, you can add funds to your Apple ID balance.”

“Regulatory requirements in India apply to the processing of recurring transactions. If you have an Indian debit or credit card and you have a subscription, these changes will affect your transactions. Some transactions may be rejected by banks and card issuers.”

“To continue enjoying your subscription, you can pay with your Apple ID balance. You can add your Apple ID balance using App Store code, Net Banking and UPI.”
