Hrithik Roshan is an Indian actor. Born in India, Roshan moved to the United States at the age of six when his family settled there. He is known for his film roles in I expected more from you, Kabaah!, and Krrish 3.

Roshan’s upcoming releases include Mohenjo Daro and Kaabil, which will be released in 2016/2017. His latest project as a producer is Bombay Velvet, starring Anil Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Ranbir Kapoor.

Hrithik Roshan was born on 10 January 1974 in Mumbai. His father, producer Rakesh Roshan (who was born in Calcutta), was a Nashik – based businessman, who had moved to India from Peshawar, but now lives in Los Angeles. His mother, the late Ashima Roshan, was the daughter of an army officer. The former Miss India and film actress Suneil Shetty is his maternal uncle.

Hrithik Roshan’s sister, Sussanne Khan (born Roshan) is a former Bollywood fashion designer and actress. They share a close bond, as Roshan mentions in interviews that he looks at Khan as his muse.

Roshan received education at Bombay Scottish School after which he graduated from Jai Hind College, Mumbai. He is also trained in Western classical music and Indian musical instruments like Tabla, Harmonium, and Mridangam. the actor is known for his work in Hindi-language films. As a child, he made uncredited appearances in three films directed by his maternal grandfather, J. Om Prakash, the first of which was in Aasha (1980) In 1986, Roshan played the adopted son of Rajinikanth’s character in Prakash’s crime drama Bhagwaan Dada. Roshan subsequently worked as an assistant director on four films, including Khudgarz (1987) and Karan Arjun (1995), all of which were directed by his father, Rakesh.

How did Hrithik Roshan start his career?

After having appeared in films as a child actor in the 1980s, Roshan made his film debut in a leading role in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000) for which he earned Filmfare Awards for Best Actor and Best Male Debut. It was not just a new actor on the block, but a star was born.

After the success of Kaho Naa, Roshan starred in a series of commercially successful films, including Don (2003), Krrish (2006), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), and Agneepath (2012). These projects turned him into a leading man in Bollywood. Most of Roshan’s projects have been critically acclaimed, although he has also received criticism for some of his performances.

Roshan also did a small part in Karz (2001), which featured his elder brother, Aryan. In 2006, Roshan hosted the first season of the Indian Idol series on Sony Entertainment Television. He was considered a front-runner in the contest until he was eliminated in the sixth week.

 Hrithik spoke openly about the difficulties he faced as a child. He spoke about the stammering problem that he had since a very young age and that he suffers from it even to this day. He would always have to put in a large measure of effort to speak clearly. “I will never be able to say certain words like ‘fire’, or ‘knife’ without having a stutter,” he said. He revealed that he had never been able to identify precisely what made him stammer but that it had always happened whenever he was nervous, or even when he was upset.

He also spoke about the difficulties that he faced as a child and teenager because of his weight. At the age of 10, he lost his mother and went through a difficult period in his life. He admitted that he had been an overweight child who was often bullied because of being different from other children. He said that he also suffered from bullying by parents in school and even family friends because of his weight.

Hrithik had undergone bariatric surgery as early as 1998 when he was only 18 years old. This was done to control the over-eating habit that he had developed since a very young age. Even today, Hrithik suffers from obesity and said that he was left with no other option but to undergo this weight loss surgery. He is still trying hard to shed off some of the excess body weight that he has put on even after the surgery.

These revelations were made by Hrithik in an interview with one of India’s most prestigious weekend magazines, Caravan. The interview was conducted by Seema Singh who is a well-known journalist and a filmmaker as well. In the interview, he also spoke about his many interests including music and dancing, his love for classical and traditional Indian dance styles, as well as his interest in acting.

Hrithik Roshan married his long-time girlfriend, Sussanne Khan, on 23 December 2000 at Lake Como, Italy. They appear to be a happy couple, often attending social events together. They have two sons, Hrehaan (b.2001) and Hridaan (b. 2005), and the family resides in Mumbai, India.
