“Sawyer of Meat” is a popular New Year’s resolution between Millennium and Generation Z. The modern generation is more aware of the consequences of overeating and is voluntarily trying to reduce it. Today, ridiculous meat, a sustainable lifestyle, and empathy for all are driving vegetarianism forward.

Veganism, a seemingly innocuous word, has become an important tool in the fight against environmental degradation and it has done so in style. It is more than just a food. It is about choosing a lifestyle that excludes animal-based products, especially food. It is a philosophy that strongly opposes the use of animals as products. Perhaps this is why celebrities like Lewis Hamilton and Tom Ford are so passionate about plant-based, eco-friendly foods.

But the question remains, why did the world suddenly collapse into veganism?

Veganism is the key to improving good health

Many believe that the only reason they eat meat is because of its nutritional value. It is rich in essential nutrients like protein, iodine, iron and zinc as well as vitamin B12 and essential fatty acids. What if you could get all of these nutrients from a plant-based diet? Processed meats, such as bacon and sausage, are high in cholesterol, making them extremely dangerous for cardiovascular disease and cancer.

Studies have shown that eating animal meat, milk and eggs is just as harmful as smoking. Another study found that strict vegetarians had the lowest cancer rates, followed by vegetarians who did not eat meat but ate animal-based products such as eggs or milk. In conclusion, because high BMI and smoking habits are important, dietary choices play an important role in determining health.

Good enough reason to switch to a vegetarian diet?

But are your taste buds preventing you from committing to veganism? Don’t worry. A plant-based diet includes everything from vegan milk, ice cream and pasta sauces to eco-friendly chicken, mutton, tuna, eggs and all kinds of meats that look, taste and even cook like traditional meat items.

Leading companies have repeatedly stated that the meat industry is a major source of pollution, food shortages and marine depletion. According to a recent study published in Nature Foods, global greenhouse gas emissions from animal-based foods are twice as high as plant-based foods.

It has been said that by reducing the use of animal-based products such as meat, dairy and eggs and adopting a vegetarian lifestyle, one can effectively reduce their carbon footprint. Indeed, the United Nations has unequivocally stated that global change toward plant-based foods and vegetarians is a key factor in tackling the worst effects of climate change. Do you need any more reasons to be a vegetarian?

Veganism equals taste and durability

Do you think it’s dramatic that animal husbandry is being described as “dark and terrible”? That’s the decent thing to do, and it should end there. Snatching baby male calves from their mothers, sending innocent animals to slaughterhouses or worse, and treating animals as instruments for producing milk, eggs and various kinds of meat, the stench of industrial farming will never leave mankind.

We cannot wash our hands in the blood of innocent animals, but we can stop this atrocity. Consider for a moment that for a delicious meal for you, a happy and pure soul must be sacrificed.

Thanks to the introduction of vegetarian meats and healthy advances in plant-based food recipes, people nowadays can easily take vegetarian food without compromising their palate. You can still eat your favorite chicken wings or pork sausage with a plant-based meat twist. These eco-friendly meat alternatives taste, feel and even cook like traditional meats and can be added to the regular diet as a sustainable alternative.

Vegetarian: A step towards a better future

Although veganism has its roots in environmental concerns and animal welfare, its numerous health benefits have also attracted a large number of followers. And, as most people start the new year with food-related resolutions, the term ‘veganwari’ has gained popularity in recent years. Following the 21-day rule is said to make any personal or professional goal a habit.
