He completed his education at Elphinstone College. He started a trading firm in 1868 with a capital of Rs 21000. Under this, the supply of military equipment abroad started. In 1869, he bought an old oil mill in Mumbai and converted it into the Alexandra Cotton Mill.

      In no time, it became a running mill. Which was sold after 2 years at a profit. The Central India Spinning and Weaving Manufacturing Company were started in 1874 with a capital of 15 lakhs. Inspired by his success, he bought a BIMARU mill in 1886. Which was named Swadeshi Cotton Mill.

 Jamshed Ji’s dream of steel making was fulfilled then. When his son Dorabji and cousin R. D Tata established the Tata Iron and Steel Company in the year 1907 at Sakchi. Jamshed Ji built the Hotel Taj Mahal in Mumbai. The hotel was equipped with all the amenities in line with the European standards of the time. On 7 January 1865, the Indian Postal and Telegraph Department issued a postage stamp in honour of Jamsetji.

   Ratan Naval Tata was born in the affluent and famous Tata family on 28 December 1937 in Surat, Bombay Presidency, British India. He is the son of Sunu Kamsiriyat and Naval Hormusji Tata. His childhood was a bit unfortunate. In the year 1948, his parents got divorced. Then he was only 10 years old. After this divorce, his father Naval Tata married a woman named Simone Dunoyer. From this second marriage, his father had another son named Noel Tata.

 The divorce of his parents, at this young age, was a big blow to him. Mentally very broken. So Ratan and his half-brother Noel were raised by their grandmother Nawazbai. He was very dear to Grandma. Ratan ji’s grandmother Nawazbai Nawaz and grandfather Sir Ratan Tata were childless. So Nawazbai adopted Naval Hormusji, the son of Hormusji Tata. Hormusji Tata was the spinning master in his textile mill.

 Ratan Tata’s early education took place at Campion School in Mumbai. He then joined The Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. When he was 15 years old. He was then sent to America to complete his further studies. Where he completed his 12th from Riverdale Country School in New York. He graduated in Architecture and Structural Engineering from Cornell University, the USA in 1958. After this, he did a course in Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

     At the same time, the news of his grandmother’s ill-health reached Ratan Tata. Due to more attachment to his grandmother and not meeting her for 7 years. He came back to India. He also asked that woman to accompany him to India. He said that he will go to India and get married. That girl was ready. But his parents did not allow him to go.

      This thing was in the year 1962. When the war between India and China was going on. Due to this war, the parents of that girl refused to let them go. So, the woman promised. She will come to India as soon as the war is over. With this belief, Ratan Tata returned to his grandmother. He came to India and waited for that woman. He was sure that she would definitely come to him. His wait got longer. At last, they got the news. The woman’s parents got her married to someone else.

 Hearing this news, he was deeply shocked. His heart was completely broken. Because he had truly loved that woman. He had also promised to him. that he would marry her.    Ratan Tata came back, putting all his attention on Tata Motors. He launched Indica-2, a new version of Indica. A few years later, the Ford company was making losses because of its Jaguar and Land Rover. By 2008, it was on the verge of bankruptcy.
