The Reserve Bank on Friday said that Sitikanta Patnaik and Rajiv Ranjan have been appointed as executive directors from May 1. Ranjan will also serve as an ex-officio member of the Rate-Setting Panel Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
Prior to being promoted to ED, Patnaik was an advisor to the Department of Economic and Policy Research (DEPR), while Ranjan served as an advisor to the Department of Monetary Policy and Secretary to the MPC.
As executive director (ED), Patnaik will oversee the economic and policy research department, while Ranjan will oversee the monetary policy department, the RBI said.
Ranjan holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Mumbai and a Masters Degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. Patnaik holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Mumbai.
