High food prices have pushed India’s November retail inflation up a notch, official data showed on Monday.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 4.91 percent last month from 4.48 percent in October 2021.
However, on a YoY basis, last month’s retail inflation growth was lower than the 6.93 percent growth recorded in November 2020. Despite this increase, retail inflation remained good within the Reserve Bank of India’s target range of 2-6 per cent. .
