Keke’s death has saddened the entire music industry. You have the opportunity to work with this singer …
I had the good fortune to perform with him when I started as a musician. It was an absolute honor to share the stage with him and sing ‘Khuda Jaane’.

Tell her about the time you first met her.
I had the opportunity to open up for her concert and seeing her perform was a learning experience. When I first met him, it was after ‘Khuda Jaane’ and we sang the song together and he was one of the most helpful people I met. I was new and still trying to learn how to perform and she was very helpful. He was very casual and it never seemed like it was coming from a senior. I will always remember it.

Did you have contact with the singer? When was the last time you talked to him?
He was a very personal person. You will rarely see him at social gatherings. I met her at a concert 10 days ago and I remember hugging her for a full two minutes. It was very nice to see him. That was my last word to him.

We all know him as a very talented singer. How would you describe him as a person?
He was a man we should all learn from. He was a very dedicated musician and a devoted family man. I remember whenever we were on tour, he always had a plan with his family and he was very dedicated to that too.

Apart from ‘Khuda Jaane’, who is your favorite song?
There is a song which is one of the very rare gems ‘Awarapan Banjarpan’ and it is one of my favorite songs to sing.
