The Golden Tusk: Venture Out Into A Stunning Resort Thats Sitting Right Next To Jim Corbett Forest

Uttarakhand is a place of mythology, magic and glorious mountains. The region is surrounded by sacred peaks, lakes and rivers. Despite the presence of beautiful Shiva and Parvati temple towers over the kingdom, traces of the British era are quite clear – the thrilling story of Jim Corbett, a hunter living in the famous tiger sanctuary bearing his name. Blessed with lush landscapes and a quiet river of parks, Corbett is a destination much larger than a national park. But, in my opinion, Corbett is not limited to real wildlife lovers – there are countless fun, leisure as well as adventure activities that can be enjoyed.

Corbett is the only major tiger sanctuary that provides accommodation and restrooms inside the park. For those looking for a luxurious stay, this place offers an indomitable resort out of the woods. And when it comes to choosing the right resort, both hospitality and the opportunity to soak in some cultures are important to me. I recently experienced this in the Golden Task.

A quaint village on the southern edge of the reserve forest, sitting elegantly in Dhela, Golden Task is a well-designed all-suite and villa resort with two quiet pools, two restaurants and a wellness center and an overflow. Indoor and outdoor activities, and much more.

Jungle safaris are, of course, one of Jim Corbett’s main tourist attractions and bring in hundreds and thousands of tourists each year, but what makes the difference is which safari you book and who guides you there. In my case, both things were top notch and I finally got to see a tiger. And when you return from a jungle safari, visit the spa and rejuvenate yourself with the other activities the resort has to offer – from outdoor adventure activities to lively evening musical nights.

Golden Task Room:

Rooms at The Golden Task with bright and airy rooms to soak up private verandas / balconies in lush green views. There are eight classes of rooms and suites – Nature View Suite, Pool View Suite, Villa, Villa Grande, Tiger Suite, Garden Suite, Corbett Suite and Luxury Tent. You can pick your own from these categories and get ready for the final pampering. I was in the Corbett suite, which is also their presidential suite. It came with a huge lawn and a spacious balcony overlooking the pool. A spacious room, comfortable enough for family as well as a group of friends. The rooms are stylishly decorated and come with their own unique selling features. Some bring pool views and garden views while others face the forest and give you panoramic forest views.

The decor of the rooms is also based on a minimal concept which makes the rooms look very spacious and create a cozy atmosphere.

Food and drink at Golden Task:

It’s easy to fall prey to the fast-paced world. Work, meetings and never-ending family work, we often miss the little things in life, or just relax – and when it comes to cooking, it always takes a back seat. But if you are in the Golden Task, you will be spoiled for choice. How, you ask? The resort has two restaurants that offer a wide range of options – from contemporary cuisine and local delicacies to delicious cocktails, you will find everything you want at The Golden Task on your holiday or in your location.

Golden Forest Restaurant: An all-day dining restaurant that serves an amazing mix of food on your table. From Italian and Indian to Chinese and even Kumaoni, you name it and they have it! I tried their Kumaoni dish, and immediately fell in love with the taste, and oh the variety – I was spoiled for choice, quite literally!

Deck: The newly opened restaurant in The Golden Task, The Deck Hall is the perfect dinner-date place. So if you are newly hired or married (or even unmarried), go there and eat under the stars on their top deck and get ready for some pampering. Try their grill platter – the selection of both non-veg and veg is incredible! Chef Chandra and Chef Bhupendra did a great job creating the menu.

Golden Task staff and services:

It rarely happens that, at least with me, you become more fascinated with people than with the food and decor of the place. But here it is! Kriti Lakhotia and Anirudh Lakhotia (founder and director of The Golden Resort) have done a fantastic job in selecting the people who tirelessly make our position here comfortable. Suresh Rawat – who runs CSR – has made it really easy for me to navigate everything within the resort. Operations Manager – Birendra Singh, Front Office Staff (Rabindra Adhikari, Aarti, Kamlesh & Bell Boys – Pratap, Anil & Narendra) and Housekeeping Staff (Monju & Bishal) to Water Dining Staff (Gajendra) – everyone is so warm and welcome And it can make it even harder to pack up and leave. The people of the Kumaoni region are probably like that – sweet and very hospitable. Also a special shout out to the restaurant staff (Deepak Fartial, Badal, Prakash, Aarti, Himanshu Manral, Deepak Arya, Ganesh and Tanu); They will continue to feed you … so be prepared to put on some weight for the holidays (for fun!)
