Viral Video About Taking Home Leftover Restaurant Food Has An Important Message


Food waste is a relevant issue today and in this age. We often see responsible citizens coming forward and taking steps to reduce food wastage. One way to do this is to take home the rest of the food we have ordered from the restaurant. The idea is not to waste that food and then swallow it. However, a common problem with this is the amount of plastic when packing this food. Restaurants often use disposable containers to pack these leftover food, which can further aggravate the environmental crisis. One blogger shared how his father found a simple solution to this conflict.

Recently, blogger Nayana Premnath went to Instagram to share a video of her father. “How my dad took leftover food at a fancy restaurant,” he wrote in the caption of the video. Check out the clip here:

The video shared on @nayana_premnath account went viral, getting 620k views and 34.3k likes. In the clip, we see the blogger’s father packing his leftovers in a steel tiffin box at a fancy restaurant. In the caption of the video, he writes, “My dad takes me to the bins without any shame. He writes in the caption how his family changed their habits in 3 years, slowly and steadily settling into what can be included every day. “Please don’t be ashamed to take sustainable action in front of your loved ones,” he urged.

Thousands of people came forward to appreciate the eco-friendly initiative on behalf of the family. “Fully support it! Also a good way not to take plastic containers from restaurants to pack food,” wrote one user. “My family rejoices when I do this and they prevent me from doing it,” said another. Everyone said it was a great idea to take home leftover food, not just to bring it into their own container to do it.
